Search for missing Blackrock woman Breda Delaney continues

Separately, gardaí search for missing Stephen O’Callaghan last seen a week ago

Gardaí are appealing for homeowners and landowners in the Blackrock area of Co Dublin to search their premises as the search for missing woman Breda Delaney continues.

Ms Delaney (72), was last seen at her home in at around 3.30am on Saturday.

The mother of one is described as being 162cm (5ft 4in), of slight build with blonde/grey hair and blue eyes.

When last seen, she was wearing a white cardigan, a grey calf-length skirt and black shoes.

Speaking to Seán O'Rourke on RTÉ radio on Monday afternoon, Ms Delaney's daughter Emer said that she had been "very anxious and distressed" before she was reported missing.

“My dad realised she was missing around midday and went to the guards at that stage. He thought she was upstairs sleeping,” she said.

Civil defence, Coast Guard units, Dun Laoghaire RNLI, harbour police and gardaí were involved in a large-scale search of the wider coastal area on Monday.

The effort has been continuing Tuesday afternoon.

“I’m still particularly concerned about coastal areas in Dublin. Particularly between Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey and Killiney, that kind of area,” she said.

Separately, gardaí in Drogheda are appealing for the public’s help in location missing man Stephen O’Callaghan.

Mr O’Callaghan (37), was last seen in Drogheda on July 7th at about 7pm.

He is described as being 178cm (5ft 10in) in height, has sandy-coloured hair, blue eyes and is of thin build.

Mr O’Callaghan was last seen wearing navy Adidas tracksuit bottoms with three stripes and a white polo t-shirt with navy stripes.
