The Gunstringer

Kinect is more than a year old, and while there are a few games that showcase its capabilities, there are several duds out there, too. The Gunstringeris one of the better ones. It teams the motion controls with humour, and ends up with a fun, easy to pick up game. You play a skeleton cowboy, hell bent on revenge after his former posse shot him in the back and left him for dead. Did we mention he's a marionette? And you are the puppeteer. Left hand controls movement, right hand controls his pistol – it's as easy as that. Feedback comes from a live audience, who are pretty vocal and provide no small degree of atmosphere. Once you have the control system down, Gunstringeris enjoyable. Levels are fun and the environments vary from the desert and swamps, to mountains and the underworld. It's quirky, if a little on the short side.
