Man (42) remanded in custody over Naas death

A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a death in Naas, Co Kildare on Friday night.

The 42-year-old appeared before a sitting of Naas District Court this evening and was remanded in custody.

The incident occurred at about 10.20pm at Harbour View in Naas when a number of youths became involved in an altercation with an older man.

A 20-year-old man received head injuries during the altercation and was unconscious when gardaí arrived.

He taken by ambulance to Naas hospital and was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.

A 42-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Naas Garda Station.
