A tiny chip with a gigantic memory, a disappearing anorak and widest viewing camera around

SanDisk 128GB Ultra microSDX card
If you can remember the name of it, you've probably got a 128GB brain, as it's quite the mouthful. Suffice to say this is currently the world's highest-capacity micro SD memory card. Able to record a full 24 hours of HD video or something like 70,000 photos, it's vast. A couple of years ago, your laptop might not have had this much capacity. And it's micro teeny. But tough, given it's also waterproof, temperature-proof, X-ray-proof and magnet-proof.

Patagonia Houdini Jacket
Just to reassure you, it's not called Houdini because this is some class of straitjacket. Rather its trick is it can pack so small as to virtually disappear. It all folds up into its own small zippered chest pocket like a posh mac in a sack. Because this is Patagonia, it's durable, DWR water-repellant and reasonably breathable. It even comes with reinforced carabiner loop for a technical touch. And as usual with this brand's discretion, there's a simple reflective logo front and back so you'll be seen on your midnight runs.

360FLY Camera
With its bulgy fly-eye lens, you can capture 360° on the horizontal and 240° on the vertical, making this the widest viewing camera around. It's like having the peripheral vision of a hare, where all life's an expansive panorama. The 360Fly can attach to a variety of mounts, from helmets to tripods to boards. And as it can talk to Apple iOS and Android, it works with apps on both platforms. Waterproof up to 5m.
About $450 (€326), 360fly.com, launching this summer.
