Garmin Vivosmart

With the media-devouring hullabaloo that greeted Apple’s recent Watch launch, wearable tech has never been so top of page. Though the fact that it will miss this Christmas to ride the wave of hype is ironically, far from timely. Everyone else is getting in fast, including sat nav specialists, Garmin, who assiduously seem to avoid the word “watch” in association with its Vivosmart. It does all the monitoring, calories burned, distance moved etc. you’d expect. There are prompts to get more active if you feel you need some nagging. And it syncs with a smartphone to forward notifications of texts, calls and emails, and to integrate with Garmin’s app. Durable, waterproof, the Vivosmart comes in an array of hues. Oh and it tells the time. Like a watch.

Logitech Multi-Device K480 Keyboard

Logitech has been relentlessly chipping away at the appetite for accessories to enhance the mobile hardware experience. The K480 fills another gap. Or perhaps makes one, depending on your economic philosophy. It’s the first keyboard designed for use with up to multiple devices, say your desktop, smartphone and tablet, pairing up with three Bluetooth devices at once. Switching between them is a twist of a dial. Leave on a desk or take with you, it works with Android, iOS and Windows. In black or white.
