Spins and twirls

THE SOCIAL NETWORK:Maura Murphy was spinning tunes in the Brown Thomas beauty hall on Thursday evening while her fellow DJ Michelle Doherty was holding sway upstairs.

Customers, some of whom didn’t appear to know what was going on, were given treats for Vogue’s Fashion Night Out. Cathy Johnson, from Rathgar, was cajoled into posing for a photograph by her daughter-in-law, Irina Babina, who is studying for a PhD at the Royal College of Surgeons.

A retired fashion correspondent of The Daily Telegraph, Hilary Alexander, was upstairs as a special guest for a MaxMara fashion show. Mary Mullery from Ballsbridge and her friend Claire Russell, from Rathgar, were there.

Eileen McCauley and her daughter Sinéad travelled up from Enniscorthy. Sinéad gets to wear the MaxMara clothes her mother doesn’t want.
