One More Thing: Welcome to Twitter, Mick

You'd have to wonder how long Michael O'Leary will be able to bite his tongue as he beds in this new cuddly image at Ryanair.

At a press conference on Wednesday, it was announced that O’Leary himself would respond to queries from Ryanair customers on Twitter next week, using the hashtag #tellMOL, or Tell Michael O’Leary.

Holy divine, they’ll break the internet. Twitter isn’t the sort of place where people hold back in their criticisms. The #tellMOL stream has been on fire since yesterday morning, the stream of bile giving a flavour of the sort of flak that awaits O’Leary next week.

One tweet summed it all up: “Hehehe, it’s crucify Ryanair day. #tellMOL. Fill your boots!”

Others included: “Don’t lie about how long a flight is and then congratulate yourselves for being on time #TellMOL.” Most of the rest are unprintable. O’Leary had better prepare by reading a Zen book.

He was nowhere to be seen during the week at the press conference. One of the Ryanair executives revealed that he was on holidays. Whereabouts? “Somewhere hot,” came the reply.

Poor Micko won’t know the meaning of the word hot until he takes to Twitter to face Ryanair’s critics next week.

He should have saved the holiday until afterwards.
