US healthcare company CVS Caremark plans to establish a new software centre in Belfast which could create 50 high quality jobs.

The Fortune 500 company, which has 200,000 employees, intends to set up an information systems development centre which will develop leading edge software for the company.

Meanwhile, the First and Deputy First Ministers, who are currently in Canada, said they hoped that Bombardier will boost job numbers.

Peter Robinson said they had learned that “employment levels in the company’s Belfast operation, which presently employs 5,500, are hopefully heading towards 6,000 by the end of the year”.
