Aer Arann pilots vote in favour of strike action

Pilots are calling for reversal of 10% pay cut imposed in 2009

Pilots at Aer Arann, which operates Aer Lingus regional services, have voted in favour of industrial action in a dispute over pay.

In a ballot by the Irish Airline Pilots Association (Ialpa), 91 per cent of pilots voted in favour of strike action.

The pilots are calling for the reversal of a 10 per cent pay cut which was imposed in 2009.

An Ialpa spokesman said the question now was what type of industrial action will take place.
