Calypso Technology to create up to 150 jobs in Dublin

San Francisco-headquartered financial services firm to open managed services centre

US financial services and software firm Calypso Technology is to create up to 150 jobs in Dublin with the establishment of a managed services centre.

Calypso is currently recruiting professionals for a range of areas such as business, technical analysis, quality assurance and application support.

“Through this centre, Calypso will proactively address a major challenge of global financial institutions face: to reduce the total cost of ownership of their trading, risk and settlement solutions – from deployment to their day-to-day operations,” Calypso senior vice president Keith O’Brien said.

IDA Ireland chief executive Martin Shanahan said the presence of Calypso in Dublin adds to the growing cluster of financial technology companies here and enhances Ireland's position in winning knowledge-led investment.

“The company’s leading market position as a global capital markets solutions provider will also attract business from financial institutions in the EU and nearby regions to Ireland,” he added.

Calypso Technology has more than 700 staff in 20 global offices, with headquarters in San Francisco, California.

Separately, security firm Netwatch is creating 50 new jobs at its headquarters in Carlow bringing total employment at the company to more than 160 people.

Roles being recruited for include sales and marketing, customer service, administration, installation and service, as well as opportunities for intervention specialists in Netwatch’s Communications Hub. Intervention specialists monitor in excess of 33,000 security cameras at both commercial and residential sites across the globe from the Carlow hub.

The company deploys advanced video processing technologies to more than 2,500 businesses throughout Ireland including retail, warehousing, logistics, construction, multinational companies as well as energy generation sites.
